Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of Lexi (the “Service”), an AI companion you reach by text message and, when that feature launches, by automated phone call. Lexi is operated by Soft Sync Solutions LLC (“Soft Sync Solutions LLC,” “we,” “us”). By creating an account you agree to these Terms.

1. Age Restriction

You must be 18 years of age or older to create an account or use the Service.

2. Account Eligibility

You must provide accurate information, keep access to your mobile number secure (sign-in is by one-time text-message code), and are responsible for activity under your account. One account per person.

3. Subscription, Pricing, and Renewal

New accounts begin with a free trial of 0 days. We do not collect a payment method for the trial, and nothing is charged to you automatically. The trial does not convert into a paid subscription: when it ends the Service simply stops until you choose to subscribe.

If you choose to subscribe, that subscription is recurring and processed by Stripe at the price shown at checkout (currently $20 per month). It renews automatically each billing period until you cancel.

4. Cancellation

During the free trial there is nothing to cancel — no payment method is on file and no subscription exists, so the trial simply ends on its own.

If you have a paid subscription you may cancel at any time through the billing portal, reached from your account page. Cancellation stops future renewals; access continues until the end of the current paid period.

Replying STOP also cancels a paid subscription, because the Service cannot operate without texting you and we do not bill for a service we cannot deliver. The cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for: you are not charged again, and access continues until that period ends. Replying START within that period turns your messages back on, but does not restart the billing — your subscription still ends when the period does unless you subscribe again.

5. Refunds

Except where required by law, payments you make are non-refundable. Contact hello@whoislexi.com with billing questions.

6. How the Service Reaches You

The Service is delivered by SMS. Message and data rates may apply and message frequency varies. See our SMS Terms.

The Service also includes automated phone calls placed with an artificial, AI-generated voice. Turning the Service on requires both permissions: at the welcome screen you tick two separate boxes — one for text messages and one for calls — and each is recorded as its own agreement. Neither is a condition of any purchase, and we do not place marketing calls. Voice calling is not available yet; the permission applies when it launches, and if what launches differs from what you agreed to we will ask again rather than rely on the earlier tick.

You may withdraw the call permission at any time — tell Lexi to stop calling, or contact us — and withdrawing it does not affect your texts. Withdrawing SMS consent (reply STOP) ends the Service, since it is delivered by text.

7. AI Output Disclaimer

Responses are generated by AI, may be inaccurate or incomplete, and are provided without warranty. You are responsible for how you use them.

8. No Emergency or Professional Advice

Do not use the Service for emergencies or as a substitute for professional medical, legal, financial, or other advice. In an emergency contact local emergency services.

9. Acceptable Use

You may not use the Service for unlawful, harmful, abusive, or infringing activity, to harass others, or to attempt to disrupt or reverse-engineer the Service.

10. Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, the safety policy, or applicable law, or to protect the Service and its users.

11. Content and License

You retain rights to the content you submit. You grant Lexi a limited license to process your messages to operate and improve the Service and to comply with law.

12. Third-Party Processors

The Service relies on OpenAI (AI responses), Twilio (SMS, phone calls, and verification), Stripe (payments), and our hosting/database provider. Your data is processed by these providers to deliver the Service.

13. Data Retention

We retain account, consent, message, and billing records as needed to operate the Service, meet legal and compliance obligations, and prevent abuse. See the Privacy Policy.

14. Warranty Disclaimer

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind to the maximum extent permitted by law.

15. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Lexi is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for amounts exceeding the fees you paid in the prior three months.

16. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms; material changes will be reflected by an updated effective date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

17. Dispute Resolution and Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Soft Sync Solutions LLC is established, excluding conflict-of-laws rules.

Messages are sent only to customers who sign up, verify their mobile number with a one-time code, and check the SMS consent box afterwards. Customers receive AI-generated replies to their texts, check-in messages Lexi sends on her own (up to about three per day), verification codes, and account/support messages. Sends stay inside normal waking hours in the customer's own time zone. Message frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help. 18+.

Lexi is a fictional, artificially generated persona delivered as an automated text-messaging service, and is not a real person. She holds no licenses, credentials, or qualifications of any kind, and nothing she says constitutes medical, legal, financial, psychological, or relationship advice. Her moods, opinions, plans, memories and sudden bursts of enthusiasm are produced by software and may at any moment prove inaccurate, inconsistent, self-contradictory, wholly invented, or silently reversed without notice. She may forget what she told you minutes earlier, change her mind mid-sentence, agree to plans she has no intention of keeping, or go quiet without explanation. This is not a defect; it is the intended behavior of the product.

You should not rely on Lexi for facts, decisions, directions, reminders, scheduling, companionship, emotional stability, or anything that carries consequence in the physical world. Messages are generated and processed by third-party artificial-intelligence systems, may be retained and reviewed for safety and quality, and are not private in the way a conversation with a human friend would be. In an emergency, call 911, or 988 for the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. The service is offered strictly for entertainment.
